I went to a baby shower on Saturday, and besides getting food poisoning there (I assume you’d prefer to not have the details on that), I found one gift rather amusing.
A man’s diaper bag. That’s not how the manufacturer dubs it, but the Mom-to-be at the shower had registered for it with the intent of her husband having his own mini diaper bag.
It just made me chuckle. I can’t think of a bigger waste of money. First of all, not one of the Dads I know has ever packed his own diaper bag (to my knowledge). Nor, would he ever HAVE his own diaper bag. PLUS, this bag is very small, you know, for the “active Dad”, but realistically, can you fit diapers, wipes, bottles and toys in there?!
Here’s my tip for any new Moms-to-be. Get one diaper bag. Make it a gender neutral bag (mine is a black backpack), as you don’t want your hubby completely embarrassed when you ask him to carry it, but realize that the responsibility to pack and remember to bring it along will be all your own.
At least that is how it is in my little world…

What a sense of humor you have to be nonetheless amused by the man bag. Silliest idea since the murse (man purse) although MAYBE gay couples who adopt might be a market for the guyper bag (yes, I am trying to make a oun out of ‘diaper’ there.)
