I’m back after a very frustrating three days of our Internet connection being down. This happens periodically, and I can never seem to fix it. Then my hubby can come up to the computer and have it fixed within minutes. It just took three days of badgering him to get him to fix it this morning!
Anyway, I’m on the mend from this crazy Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. So far, Little Miss hasn’t shown signs of it, but the pediatrician told me yesterday that she could come down with it in another 14 days. Just in time for me to start my new job, right?!
This entry is going to jump all over the place because I have a lot to say.
Little Miss’s 6 month appointment was yesterday, where she weighed in at 19 pounds and was measured at 28 3/4 inches long. Both measurements put her int he 95th percentile. The doctor says she is big and that she needs some hair! She handled her shots like a pro, crying for about 30 seconds and then recovering to smile at the nurse before she left the room.
I am still having pumping problems, as my nipples seem to be on strike, cracking and bleeding like crazy. I talked to a lactation consultant today who said I may have a yeast infection (sorry, to my male readership), but I don’t really think that is the case. My supply has really taken a dive this week, so I’m not sure how long I’ll last with my plan of pumping twice a day.
I just hopped on the scale today, and am proud to report I am now two pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. Yippee! Thanks to Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, I couldn’t really eat this week, so I took off five pounds this week. Woo! Let’s hope it all doesn’t come right back!
I went shopping with my Mom on Wednesday, and found a ton of new clothes that fit me. I’m actually into a size that I’m relatively happy with, and those normal sizes are fitting me again. For a few months there, I was a really strange size with a huge waist and normal sized lower body.
This past weekend we celebrated my brother’s 40th birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHUCK!). The plan was to camp at Donner lake for two nights. Well, considering we were both sick, we decided to just drive up each day, which worked out relatively well. We still got to hang out in the woods and have a campfire, which was our only camping experience of the summer. Little Miss was in a great mood, so it was pretty enjoyable (if you discount the crazy sore throat and the blisters I had in my mouth and on my hands and feet!).
Finally, Little Miss had her 6 month portraits taken last week, and I just received them via e-mail. Here are the best ones.
Here she is wearing my grandfather’s christening dress:
And here she is wearing one of my favorite dresses.
Is it just me, or do her ears look really big?!
